CdeC16: Peruvian stargazers: Observando el universo desde suelo peruano
Sinopsis del club
This club is designed to teach hands-on astronomy to students. We will explore the background and techniques of visual observation and image the Moon, planets, sun and brighter deep-space objects using telescopes. Telescope work begins with visual observing and sketching, then we advance to CCD (charge-coupled device) cameras. If the weather is cloudy, we will try some astronomical computing and image processing indoors. This will form the experimental, hands-on part of the workshop. General expositions on topics in astronomy that the students are curious about or that are currently “hot topics in space” will be conducted during conversation sessions.
