In the course we will be immersed in the dynamic world of viral outbreaks. We’ll explore how viruses emerge, spread, and evolve, focusing on key arboviruses prevalent in Peru like Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, and Oropouche. Through interactive lectures and case studies, students will gain a deep understanding of epidemiological principles, basic phylogenetic analysis, and their critical role in public health responses to emerging viral threats in a  real-world.
